Beautiful Fengersfors
Fengersfors really is a special place - and not only for myself. The creative energy in this former paper mill village attracts many people. Some only visit us during the summer, others fall in love and move here. The old factory is the heart of Fengersfors. The art and craft cooperative Not Quite has been active here for more than 15 years, bringing culture and life to the site. Throughout the year you can visit art exhibitions, enjoy locally produced opera performances, cool concerts and food festivals. The summer café spoils you with ecological treats which you can enjoy in the old forge or in the park among birches and art installations. For breakfast you can buy tasty sourdough bread in the stone oven bakery Brukets Godaste every morning - of course organic.
Lakes
One of the most beautiful bathing places in Dalsland lies on the shore of lake Knarrbysjön. You can reach it from the house within a 5-minute walk through the village. Around Fengersfors there are also many other lakes and of course the Dalsland Canal.
Shoping
Fengersfors is one of the few small places in Dalsland that still has its own grocery store. Here you can not only shop but also refuel (gasoline & diesel). And then of course there is Brukets Godaste, the bakery, with its rich offer of bread, cinnamon buns, homemade granola, delicious organic juices and much more. For larger errands a trip to the 20 km away small town of Åmål is recommend.
Arts and crafts
There are two craft shops on the factory site at Not Quite: Not Quites Butik & Gallery, where the members of the cooperative offer their exceptional and high-quality products, and the little gallery "Malin & Staffan". Here photographer Malin Robertson-Harén has her showroom and offers lots off nice gifts and presents. Near the entrance to the factory premises, in the old porter's office, you will find a small book and paper shop. The ceramicist Cordula B. Morich has her workshop right next to Not Quite. Her sculpture garden really is worth a visit.
Auctions
Fengersfors has its own auction office, Fengersfors Auktioner, which holds popular auctions all year round. Here you can make real bargains!
